Special Educational Needs & Disability (SEND)

Meridian Primary School and Nursery values the contribution that every child can make to our school. We are committed to offering an inclusive curriculum to ensure the best possible progress for all of our pupils, whatever their needs and starting points.

Everyone at Meridian is committed to supporting the achievement of all through high expectations, removing barriers to learning and enabling curricular access.  All children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) are valued, respected and equal members of the school.

A pupil has SEND where their learning difficulty or disability calls for special educational provision, namely provision different from or additional to that normally available to pupils of the same age.

Our Inclusion Leader and SEND co-ordinator is Mrs. Lucy Newth and our Deputy SEND co-ordinator is Ms Nicola Treglown. If you have any concerns about your child needing additional support in school, please make an appointment to meet with their class teacher. If you still have concerns following this, please contact the school office to make and appointment and Mrs Newth or Ms Treglown will be happy to discuss and support you through your concerns.
